Purpose Statement

For high school students the college admission process is ultimately a rite of passage, reflecting who they have been and how that affects who they will be. My goal for all students is to develop a post-high school path that will challenge their continued learning experience, refine or introduce their career directions and help them through the college application and admission process, all while considering family choices and concerns. My purpose is to empower students, helping them understand how their strengths, interests, goals and dreams speak well of them when considering their future. I offer two service packages including communication with high school students and parents, preparation of an appropriate college list based on interests and student profiles, planning for admission exams, help with application essays, sharing information regarding college visits and interview, financial aid and scholarships, and finalizing the college choice. An hour long introductory meeting is offered to learn more about my program and how it will fit the needs of students. There is a fee for this introductory session. If the family chooses to hire me as their college counselor the fee will be credited toward the package price. Please explore my website and contact me if you are interested in meeting. I am willing to discuss abbreviated packages and appropriate fees if you wish.

Thank you!

Mj Hillstrom, College Admission Consultant
